Three types of charts are reported below for different issues (nuclear power, OGM and climate change).
The first chart reports on the trends of salience in the newspaper articles published in the last 24 months and relevant to the issue. The trends are plotted for two sets of newspaper articles: the set of articles relevant to Science and the set of articles relevant to Science and Technology. Relevance is predicted by means of thesaurus-based classifiers.
The second chart reports the comparison between the trend of the risk indicator in all the newspaper articles published in the last 24 months, and the trend of that indicator in newspaper articles published in the same time period and relevant to Science and Technology.
The third graph reports the percentage of newspaper articles published in the last five years in diverse source (e.g. newspaper feeds) categories.
See the glossary for a detailed description of salience, classifiers and indicators.
